Furthermore, the poor, who in other times would have stayed because they didn't have the means to travel, were helped by various newly founded Jewish organizations for the first time ever.

Analysis and connections came only later.
I wouldn't expect any of those leftist intellectuals to repudiate their prior writings. But I would expect more of Eric Rouleau, at his advanced age, than say, of someone like Alain Gresh or Avi Schlaim.
But maybe I am wrong.
Sylvianoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12677825.post-18893409566469091442012-09-01T23:08:35.877+01:002012-09-01T23:08:35.877+01:00I see that rouleau holds on to the myth of Arab [i...I see that rouleau holds on to the myth of Arab [inc. palestinian Arab] innocence in the Holocaust. Doesn't he know that Haj Amin el-Husseini spent the war years in Berlin and the Nazi-fascist domain as a whole, encouraging the more Jews [especially Jewish children] be sent to Poland where he knew that mass murder of Jews was going on.

Rouleau does like his myths. The book title is in English, The Middle East beyond the Myths. But rouleau does not get beyond his own myths, the myths that he wants to propagate, such as Arab innocence.Eliyahu m'Tsiyonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07973268399414290195noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12677825.post-20259962870629891842012-08-30T19:59:41.733+01:002012-08-30T19:59:41.733+01:00I have been reading rouleau for years in le monde,...I have been reading rouleau for years in le monde, new left review, etc. He often has important and interesting info. But as a communist, what he says may be interesting but you can't trust him not to distort or omit many things that don't fit his message.Eliyahu m'Tsiyonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07973268399414290195noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12677825.post-53000648490906530452012-08-29T21:11:41.152+01:002012-08-29T21:11:41.152+01:00I anticipate this will be a good book.
