She was an Egyptian Copt who came to Canada via the UK. Although she was, at the age of 13, sophisiticated enough to tell us of the corruption of the Egyptian immigration officials who extorted property from departing Copts, her family still looked upon Nasser as a hero. So, this has really been going on for a very, very long time.
