Banish all thoughts of cheesecake this Shavuot! Tunisian Jews celebrate the festival of the giving of the law on Mount Sinai with Ghreibas, cakes made either with chickpea or sorghum flour.
One-quarter of a liter of light oil (corn or sunflower)
- 250 grams icing sugar
-500 grams of chickpea flour or sorghum flour
- 100 grams of ordinary flour
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- ½ teaspoon of baking powder
- ½ cup of water
1 / Place all ingredients in large bowl, work well and knead with your hands
2 / Roll out, flatten and cut the dough at an angle of about 20 cm 3 cm for sorghum cakes. For chickpea bsicuits form tubes of 1 cm wide by 3 cm long)
3 / cook at 160 C degrees for one hour
4 / cool and enjoy.
